CFL Draft 2024


The CFL 2024 Draft was held on April 30th.  The Ottawa Redblacks selected seven new players in the draft:



  • 1st Round: Nick Mardner, WR, Auburn (2nd)

  • 2nd Round: Daniel Okpoko, DL, San Diego State (11th)

  • 3rd Round: Dawson Pierre, DB, Concordia (22nd)

  • 4th Round: Jahquan Bloomfield, WR, Prarie View A&M (35th)

  • 6th Round: Yani Gouadfel, DB, Bishop’s (49th)

  • 7th Round: Zachary Philion, LB, Concordia (58th)

  • 8th Round: Russell Dixon, TE, Connecticut (67th)

This year’s draft also included the selection of two players in the CFLOAA family! 



The Montreal Alouettes selected Arthur Hamlin 29th overall.  The Colgate product is the son of CFLOAA alumnus Geof Hamlin.  Arthur’s road to the draft was not an easy one, click on the link below for more of his story.

The BC Lions chose UBC Thunderbird Theo Benedet 15th overall.  Theo is the grandson of alumnus Andy Shaw.  He is also a two-time winner of the J.P. Metras Trophy as top lineman in uSports football. Prior to the draft, Theo signed a contract with the Chicago Bears.
